Denier issued by Balian Grenier

It was a royal privilege to mint coins, and so the issue of billon deniers such as this one by the barony of Sidon is an example of the infringement of this royal prerogative. It is, however, not an unique or unusual type of coin, with other baronies such as Beirut also issuing their own coinage.
